Norse Home is a community of happy residents
and friendly staff. Norse Home is a non-porofit non-sectarian continuing
care retirement community with 45 years of successful service in Seattle,
Washington State. Our staff of 90 are qualified, dedicated and caring professionals.
We offer independent living and assisted living. NORSE HOME BOASTS A RICH
NORDIC HERITAGE Founded by members of the Norwegian American Community,
The Norse retirement home opened in June 1957. The building is an impressive
Seattle landmark on Phinney Ridge overlooking Ballard and Puget Sound. We
offer added safety, convenience and elegance: State-of-the-art fire and
smoke alarm system Full sprinklers Modern elevators Main dining room Delightful
and secluded Garden Court Our 6 story building on Phinney Ridge, is located
directly across from the Woodland Park Zoo and the adjoining Rose Garden.
Frequent Metro bus service provides easy transportation to downtown Seattle
. Our 18 person van is used for frequent scheduled trips. FEES: NO ENTRANCE
FEE! Norse Home no longer requires an entrance or founder's fee. Monthly
charges are designed to cover operating costs and future improvements. As
a NONPROFIT CORPORATION, we are not in business to earn a profit and we
believe that we provide a value for the money. Most residents at Norse Home
are private pay. We require a financial statement which gives a reasonable
assurance of ability to cover the monthly fees. RANGE OF SERVICES: Norse
Home provides several levels of service. Independent residents are in the
upper floors. All residents enjoy a private apartment with carpeting, blinds
and draperies. The new resident furnishes the apartment with his or her
own personal possessions to provide an individualized, homelike living environment.
All meals are provided in our main dining room as well as weekly housekeeping,
utilities and access to all activities. Double units are available on a
limited basis.Norse Home has two M.S.W. Social Workers on staff. They are
available to families and residents for problem solving/providing referrals
to community resources and assisting with move transitions within the building.
Norse Home is a non-profit community retirement organization that strives
to give quality care to moderate income senior citizens. This is made possible
through the support of the community. We welcome donations and contributions
to our general fund for:Capital improvement Memorial remembrances Activities
